Brockham is a Mole Valley village at the foot of Box Hill, within the Surrey Hills AONB, built around one of Surrey's largest traditional village greens. The Brockham Green conservation area covers the core of the village; the River Mole flows through the parish on its way north towards Leatherhead. The clay geology of the Mole valley floor means gate-post foundations need to reach below the seasonal frost line, which is deeper than the national default on most UK sites.
